A young Toledo woman lost her life and her passenger very seriously injured when they pulled out onto Highway 20 from Pioneer Trail right in front of oncoming traffic.
Oregon State Police say the 7pm accident took the life of Angelica Kenney 22, of Toledo who was driving the Buick Lesabre. Troopers say Kenney had stopped for the stop sign at Pioneer Trail and Highway 20 but then pulled right out onto 20 and was instantly broadsided by an oncoming Jeep. Kenney suffered fatal injuries. Her passenger, Evan Wixted 24, also from Toledo, suffered very serious injuries and was rushed to PCH in Newport and immediately went into emergency surgery.
Occupants of the Jeep, two 17 year old juveniles, both from Philomath, suffered only minor injuries and were treated and released from PCH.
