Highway 20 is shut down at Pioneer Trail due to a vehicle accident. Multiple ambulances are responding, along with Toledo Fire and Oregon State Police.
Medics on scene are requesting an air ambulance.
Air ambulances are not able to fly due to weather. Toledo Fire is on scene and are attempting to extricate a passenger out of an involved vehicle.
One confirmed fatality. Ambulance is taking one passenger to PCH in Newport, while Toledo Fire personnel are caring for two other passengers, awaiting the arrival of a second ambulance.
Second ambulance is headed for PCH. Highway 20 is still shut down in both directions.
Toledo Fire is leaving the scene in control of ODOT and OSP.
Major Crash Team being called to the scene. Highway will likely be closed for a while.
ODOT estimates the highway to be closed for about one more hour.
Vehicles and debris have been removed and the highway is back open.
