Last week the Port’s boatyard crew hauled out the first vessel with our new 660 ton mobile vessel lift. The Timmy Boy, a 60′ fishing vessel based out of Newport, Oregon was the first boat to be lifted. The Timmy Boy is owned by Bob Eder and Michele Longo Eder, and captained by Dylan Eder.
Adjacent to the new haul out piers, the boatyard crew had just hauled out the Charter Vessel Tacklebuster with our 85 ton lift. The 50′ charter vessel homeports in Depoe Bay, and is owned by Jeurgen Turner.
The Port Commission and staff are enthusiastic about the Boatyard’s expansion, and the opportunities it will provide. Improvements to the new expanded boatyard are still in process, with a new wash down area being completed. However, haul outs for vessels over 85 tons are now being scheduled. For more information or to schedule a haul out, please contact Aja Vickers at the Boatyard.
This project has been made possible with grant funding from the ConnectOregon V program and support from Business Oregon, Infrastructure Finance Authority.
The Port thanks the community for the overwhelming support for this project.
