Oregon Coast Community College is hosting two College Goal Oregon events to provide Financial Aid information to students, their family members, and interested members of the community. Participants can enjoy free pizza while they learn about the recent changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other important financial aid information.
The first of these events runs 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at OCCC’s North County Center in Lincoln City. The second event will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Central County Campus in Newport. This event is part of a program to help students and their families learn about the FAFSA and how to apply for financial aid. Attendees receive information on navigating the steps of financial aid, learning about scholarship opportunities, and hands-on assistance completing the FAFSA.
To take advantage of the hands-on assistance OCCC staff and volunteers will provide, please bring the following items to the event you attend:
* Yourself and, if possible, your parent or guardian (if you are a dependent student)
* Most recent completed federal tax return (yours and your parents’/guardians’)
Current value of assets, including cash, checking, savings, investments, and value of business/farm
* Social Security numbers of student and parent(s)/guardian(s)
* Driver’s license
* Alien register card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
