$500 Million gift to University of Oregon Science by Phil & Peggy Knight
Noting that America’s universities are falling behind the rest of the world in investments in higher education devoted to science, Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his wife Penny have donated a half-billion dollars – $500 Million – to build a new science research center at the University of Oregon in Eugene. The spectacular gift is the biggest in the history of the country.
