Diana Hinton Lincoln City City Council Ward 1
I was born with “Public Servant” stamped on my forehead and I have spent my professional and volunteer career working for the good of my community.
As soon as I arrived in Lincoln City I got to work in the neighborhood, where I served on the Water District Board and was elected President of the neighborhood association, leading it through the annexation process.
I applied and was appointed to the Planning Commission where I currently serve.
I want to get the voice of the residents heard in city hall. I have two decades of experience working with city governments and neighborhood groups and I know how to open those lines of communication.
Lincoln City, like other communities, desperately needs workforce housing for those who keep our city running. In addition, we must not forget the homeless. A goal of the City must be to develop a comprehensive plan to deal first with the lack of affordable housing and then to expand employment opportunities. I want those that work in Lincoln City to be able to live here and vote here.
Just a word about my other passion: earthquake and tsunami preparedness. I believe the City has a responsibility to its residents and visitors to provide evacuation signs and neighborhood caches, for a start.
These are just three of the many issues and opportunities that Lincoln City faces, and I would like to use my experience and leadership skills to help lead the City into that future.
It all begins in the neighborhood!
