On Tuesday at about 3:00PM Lincoln City Police Department received an anonymous tip providing information about a suspicious vehicle with two occupants in the area of N21st Street and Hwy 101 in Lincoln City. The information obtained revealed the male subject associated with the vehicle was wanted on felony warrants for Escape out of Des Moines, Iowa, by the US Marshall’s Service.
The suspect vehicle had left the area prior to officer’s arrival. After a short search, the vehicle was located in the D-River Wayside State Park. Officers from Lincoln City Police conducted a high-risk, guns drawn confrontation and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Entry to the park was closed briefly until the suspect was in custody and vehicle secured.
Arrested was Michael James Hanold, age 38, of Des Moines, Iowa. He was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail where he is awaiting his return trip back to Iowa.
