A new non-profit organization has set up shop in Lincoln City. Shiloh: The Gathering Place Ministries is a faith-based group of folks who looked around and noticed the obvious – that there are a lot of hurting people wandering about Lincoln City in need of food, finding a safe place to sleep and trying to get their lives back under control and back out in the world contributing to society.
Many, if not most of these stressed out homeless or near homeless people need food, water and a safe place to spend time looking for work and/or social and medical services. Shiloh Director Martha Watts, retired military and world traveler says they provide a clean and safe place to hang out, talk to one another, share each others’ life experiences. Look for work.
Ms. Watts tells News Lincoln County that they’re having a special event on Sunday that will throw open their doors to the public, especially the homeless, to listen to great music from Melody Jackson and Hannah Lamb and enjoy free food and beverages. The outreach to the community party starts at 4pm Sunday and runs through 6pm. Shiloh is located at 2139 NW 101. Again, it’s free – including the food.
Shiloh: The Gathering Place Ministries has just opening its doors at 2139 Highway 101. You can also get information from their blog on Facebook – Shiloh The Gathering Place.
