When the new Highway 20 road improvements are completed this November and traffic can zip along at freeway speeds pretty much all the way to Corvallis, travelers, of course, will be passing right by the old twisty-turny 5 mile section of old Highway 20 that will soon become a very quiet country lane – must to the pleasure of residents along there.
There must have been quite the confab among neighbors along that curvy route because they came up with a real pretty name for it. Probably added some value to their properties! The power of words!! They’re calling that “orphaned” stretch of Highway 20 Crystal Creek Loop.
Now who wouldn’t like that on their return address!?
The “new” Highway 20 will re-open to normal traffic in mid-October much to the delight of those who commute on 20, and as well as those who would like to visit the Central Coast using another route other than Highway 18.
