Suspected driver of Newport High street barrier bashing car claims he “blacked out.” NPD disputes that.
Update Friday morning: In what appears to be a note to the community published on the Lincoln County Scan Facebook page, Alex Yanez said he “blacked out” before he crashed through the Eads Street barriers. The note says he never intended to hurt anyone and that he feels deep remorse for what happened. A Newport Police news release denies that any impairment contributed to the incident.
