The Connie Hansen Garden’s annual Fall Plant Sale will be held on September 17th from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Connie Hansen Garden, 1931 NW 33rd Street in Lincoln City. Mid September is the perfect time to plant many varieties of perennials and shrubs; soil temperatures are warm enough to encourage good, strong root growth prior to winter dormancy, which helps transplants get a head start on those planted the following spring, as does the abundance of fall rain, establishing vigor that is more readily able to withstand adverse conditions such as storms and summer drought.
A wide selection of well established cuttings and divisions from CHG and the volunteer staff will be available for sale, at well below market pricing. This year, the sale is featuring hydrangeas and candelabra primula, excellent performers in our cool, moist climate, as well as hellebores, schizostylis, hebe, dwarf rhododendron and much more. This is the final major sale of the year for the Garden, but there will still be some plants available for sale on the plant bench outside the Garden House until probably early December.
Your support at this and other major fundraisers is what helps keep the Garden growing. Please plan to attend, enjoy the lovely autumn colors, take an informative walk with one of the volunteers, and find a treasure to take home with you.
