Lincoln County Schools lead-in-the-water investigation nearly done – Schools to be clean by 1st day of school, September 7Lincoln County school officials say that by the time school starts September 7th, all Lincoln County Schools will have “just about” all lead-tainted plumbing ripped out and new plumbing put in. A few may not be completely fixed but children will not be drinking from them.
Schools operations and maintenance chief Rich Belloni says when inspecting over 1,100 points in the water systems of schools from Lincoln City to Waldport, it requires a lot of waiting for test results to come back and new plumbing parts to come in. But he told News Lincoln County that when school children return from summer vacation, it’ll be safe to drink the water in all schools. Belloni said there could be a few water sources whose test results haven’t come back yet, or some fixture parts that haven’t been delivered. But in those cases there will be portable water stations available so the kids will have all the water they need.
The information below is the current situation as of Monday afternoon.
