Las week Lincoln City Police and Fire celebrated two new 911 Dispatchers successful graduation from the DPSST Telecommunicator Academy in Salem. Amy Myers and Selina Weitzel both graduated from the academy with honors. Their academy class was recognized for outstanding scholastic achievement as a group, scoring a class average of 94.49% on all course exams.

Dispatcher Selina Weitzel was awarded the Carol Fagan Award for Scholastic Achievement, leading her classmates with an average exam score of 100%.

Myers and Weitzel have completed phase training in the LCPD 911 Center. They will complete Emergency Medical Dispatch training Wednesday August 3 and will be dispatching from their own consoles upon returning to their shifts.

LCPD 911 Supervisor Lt. Jerry Palmer stated Amy and Selina have been outstanding new additions to our 911 Center. They are proving themselves very capable everyday. They truly care about our community and are doing a great job.
