From the Toledo Public Library
2016 Toledo Summer Fest Lucky Loggers Days will include a new feature this year, a Children’s Story Hour sponsored by the Toledo Public Library from 1-2 pm on Sunday, July 24th which the Summer Fest has declared Children’s Day.
We have discovered some “celebrity” readers and storytellers who are anxious to share their books and stories with the children on that special day from the stage of the festival. Readers will include Sarah Gayle who will read her original work Come One Come All to the Fairy Ball! Mayor Billie Jo Smith will also be on hand reading a selection of her choice (tba). Toledo Public Library volunteer Dave Huntington will read My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss; Toledo resident Linda Murphy will change things up and expand the experience by reading her selection in Spanish (tba). Assistant Library Director Tonia Storm will be sharing a book about pirates, and Library Director Deborah Trusty will read a selection from Kenneth Grahame’s classic The Wind in the Willows. Please join us for this special Lucky Logger celebration of stories and reading. And if you would like to read at the Summerfest, give us a call…we would love to include you!
The Toledo Public Library will also have a booth at the 3-day festival selling used books. The proceeds will go to purchase more books and materials for the library. Please be sure to drop by the booth and support a good cause and give your child or yourself the gift of a book. We have lots of fiction and nonfiction titles available. For more information contact Deborah Trusty at 541-336-3132.
