As you’ll recall, fire consumed a home on SE 5th in Newport this past weekend. Firefighters were intent on ensuring that the flames didn’t damage or bring down any neighboring properties. No one was living in the home. In fact it was for sale for a half million.
Since the home was all but consumed, officials closed Bay Boulevard right below it for fear of the home’s eminent collapse onto the pavement. But with a not so gentle tap from a front loader it was pushed over, and fell down in place. Didn’t take but a few seconds for the remnants of the house to fall straight down.
