Alyssa Swenson and her husband Joshua, along with their three terrific young sons, are in a real hole. Alyssa and Joshua didn’t realize they “bought” a manufactured home in Depoe Bay from a con artist with a gambling problem who quickly lost their money down a slot machine. It was the last money they had. And now they’re homeless.
Alyssa said they checked the seller out – the title was free and clear – and the taxes on the home were paid up. They verified everything through the county assessor’s office. They did all their homework, yet still they got ripped off royally. The fraudster got every dime they had.
She found out after she walked up to the home, that someone else was living in it. They just had just bought it from the same seller who was obviously double or triple selling the same property.
Law enforcement says they’re close to having grounds to arrest the guy, but a man in jail doesn’t pay his bills or other obligations.
Alyssa works hard at her job, but her husband, badly injured in an accident, is waiting for his disability insurance to kick in. But in the meantime the Swenson’s need any help they can get. They’re good people and deserve a hand-up from the community.
Any and all contributions are welcomed with gratitude and grace.
