Report of a large stump on fire…flames beginning to spread two miles up Risley Creek Road above Tidewater. Local fire units enroute and dispatch is contacting Oregon Department of Forestry for them to roll on it as well. It’s possibly connected with a recent tree cutting operation.
It’s being called a “high risk” fire. Central Coast Fire, Yachats and Seal Rock fire are racing to the scene – asking for brush rigs and water tenders. May need a lot of water up there.
First arriving unit, a Central Coast Fire brush rig, on scene up Risley Creek reporting that there is a large stump on fire spreading to the undergrowth.
Central Coast Fire personnel aggressively attacked the fire and now have it knocked down with a containment line around it. Situation under control. Most units can return to their respective stations.
