Don’t let these bright yellow invasive yellow weeds set up permanent residency in our community! Join us for a day of service and help protect native plants in your state park! Park staff will be looking for volunteers to help cut scotch broom within the day-use area at South Beach State Park on Saturday May 28 from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Cutting “broom in bloom” is the best chance at killing the plant without using pesticides or heavy equipment. Staff will provide volunteers with pruners, hand-saws, and gloves, as well as water and refreshments. Make sure to dress for the elements and bring a reusable water bottle!
