Toledo Boatyard employee Aja Vickers took this picture of a fishing vessel that the boatyard had just lifted out of the water for some work to be done on it. Of course, a much bigger boat lift that can lift boats many times the size of the My Lee, is enroute to Toledo.
When the “Mega Lift” arrives and is fully assembled, you’ll be able to put this older boat lift, even with a boat in the straps, into a small corner of the new lift. The new lift will be able to haul out large fishing vessels of up to 600 tons for upgrades, repairs, alterations, you name it. The massive new boat lift will put the Toledo Boatyard and the town of Toledo on the map for big league fishing and scientific boat repair, maintenance and outfitting. It will likely transform Toledo’s economy from a single dependence on making paper and cardboard to being a “go to” boatyard for the giant fleet of fishing and scientific research vessels that ply the waters of the Pacific.
