LCPD statement – Lincoln City Pedestrian Struck During Hit and Run
On 05/01/16 at approximately 21:15 PM, a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian on US Highway 101 near SW 16th Street. The vehicle then left the scene without stopping.
The victim, 34-year-old victim, Kurtis Chase, was struck by the vehicle as it traveled Southbound on US Highway 101. Chase was transported via Pacific West ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital and later flown to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
The Lincoln City Police Department was assisted by members of the Lincoln County Multi-Agency Crash Team, which included Toledo Police Department, Newport Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon State Police. They were also assisted by North Lincoln Fire and Rescue units at the scene.
Evidence at the scene indicate the involved vehicle is a dark blue-green Nissan Titan pickup truck, model year between 2004 and 2013 similar to vehicle captured in the photo above. The vehicle will have damage to the front passenger side headlight area.
