Depoe Bay Fire dispatched to a report that the house behind 130 Alderwood Street in Depoe Bay is completely on fire. Caller to 911 says a person is trapped on the porch of the residence and cannot get out.
Caller now saying a second house is on fire. Depoe Bay Fire has requested an engine from Newport and an engine from North Lincoln Fire lights and sirens.
Depoe Bay Fire engine on scene advising the person trapped on the porch has jumped off and is down. They are starting CPR. Multiple power lines are down across Sijota Street.
A live power line is feeding the fire.
There were originally 6 people in the home. Another female has jumped off a two story balcony. It is unknown if the other four have escaped.
A live wire is across a large puddle near the scene. Power company has a 30-40 minute ETA. They are being asked to step it up as much as possible.
Deputy on scene requesting more law enforcement to evacuate people from the surrounding area.
Second house is now fully involved. Newport Fire and North Lincoln Fire engines are rushing to the scene. Pacific West Ambulance has two ambulances on scene, one medic team has taken over CPR, the other is evaluating the female that jumped.
86 year old man decided to come down the street to watch the fire and ended up slipping and falling on the pavement. Possible broken hip. Medics are being stretched thin and are needing to divide their limited resources to bring attention to the man.
Medics have pronounced the previously trapped person deceased.
Scene command advising firefighters have knocked down the blaze. They are beginning to flood the burned residences with water to ensure the flames are out for good.
