Here’s the latest ODOT information on Highway 20 road closures starting June 1st. Feel free to lift it right off News Lincoln County’s website page so you can tape it to your refrigerator. ODOT says they’re going to by sticking pretty close to this closure schedule right up to the time they cut the ribbon on the new bypass which this whole Highway 20 Project has been all about.
By the way, ODOT will be letting TripCheck.com know when they close and open the road. And by the disclaimer at the bottom of the page here, you can see there might be some variations on blasting and other work that might lengthen them a little or reduce them a little. They say they’ll let TripCheck.com know immediately if there is an earlier closure or quicker re-open. ODOT also says they’ll have warning signs on the closures on Highway 20 in Newport as well as just east of Toledo on Highway 20.
By the way, in almost all cases, law enforcement, fire trucks and ambulances will be able to get through the closures. There will be a few times when they can’t, but hopefully nothing will happen during those short time periods.
So, here it is!
And a little more information for you. Here’s a quick ODOT video on how the bypass looks and what work must be done to make it ready for the big ribbon cutting in the fall.
