Newport: Vehicle vs. 3 year old in Wal-Mart parking lot

Newport Fire, Newport Police, and Pacific West Ambulance dispatched to a report of a child hit by the bumper of a Dodge pickup in the Wal-Mart parking lot, near the front entrance. The 3 year old boy was knocked to the ground, and is conscious and breathing normally. No visible injuries to the child, but medical personnel are responding as a precaution.

Child is being taken to PCH to be further evaluated. No lights, no sirens. No word on what caused the child to cross paths with the pickup.
