Deputy Eric Larson with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in Waldport after observing the vehicle commit a moving violation. The vehicle slowly pulled into a nearby parking lot and the driver ran from the traffic stop on foot carrying a backpack. Deputy Larson pursued the driver and apprehended him nearby.
The driver was identified as, Joseph Vinson, 31 years of age, from Toledo. Vinson showed signs of impairment from a controlled substance. Vinson was taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for an outstanding Parole Warrant in addition to Attempt to Elude (foot) and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
During a search the contents of Vinson’s backpack, deputies found approximately 11.85 grams of methamphetamine, 9.45 grams heroin, packaging material and a digital scale.
Vinson was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin and Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin. His bail was set at $680,000.00.
