By a vote of his peers and supervisors, Garrett Livingston was named 2015 Employee of the Year at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital (SNLH). Chief Executive Officer Dr. Lesley Ogden presented the prestigious award to Livingston at a hospital-wide celebration.
Throughout the year, SNLH staff nominates colleagues for employee of the month. Livingston received this recognition last April. At the end of the year, the 12 employees of the month are put up for a final vote for the top honor, which includes a monetary reward and smaller prizes in appreciation.
Livingston, who resides in Depoe Bay, began his employment at SNLH in April 2013 as a part-time admitting registrar before transferring to a full-time position in the hospital as a laboratory registrar. He recently transferred to the hospital’s Physical Rehabilitation Department.
“It is an honor to be recognized for efficiency and hard work,” Livingston said. “I have learned in the time that I have been here that a friendly smile and positive attitude to both our coworkers and patients can go a long way. We are indeed the patient experience.”
At Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, the “patient experience” refers to staff efforts over the past several months to identify and enact specific plans for improving the experience for patients and visitors throughout all departments at the hospital.
