Lincoln City City Council gets a full city budget committee and planning commission
The Lincoln City City Council has a fairly light agenda Monday night – most of its time spent on filling important vacancies on various advisory committees and commissions. The two “biggies,” Budget Committee and Planning Commission saw Randy Weldon, James Scrutton, Jim Davis, Doug Holbrook and De Ritchie all appointed to the Budget Committee. Appointed to the Planning commission were Steve Griffiths and Gary Cunningham.
And the city council threw in another ten thousand dollars to help the Lincoln City Food Pantry continue with building their new Food Pantry facility near Taft High School. A spokesman for the pantry said that nearly 1,000 people are served every month out of the temporary facility. The new facility is going up at The Coast Vineyard Church on NE 6th in Lincoln City. The council learned that 60 individuals have donated money to the effort, along with 50 businesses. Contractors are donating labor. Grants have helped and more grants are being applied for.
