Newport Police Officers responded Thursday to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Hwy 101 and NW 48th Street in Newport. Police Officers arrived and learned the driver of a 1997 Toyota Corolla had rear-ended a semi-truck and trailer while the truck was legally parked on the shoulder of the south-bound lane of the highway. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Michael J. Dippre, age 36 of Newport.
