WOOPS!! Fire rekindled in the crawl space!! Firefighters scrambling to put it out…again!
Firefighters really hustling to get water on it. The fire has now worked its way down into a second floor room. Firefighters are back to pulling wall and ceiling board. This fire just won’t go down without a bigger fight!
North Lincoln Fire has once again called Newport Fire to bring their large ladder truck. This is getting to be a complicated game of hide-and-seek with a fire that has worked it’s way around the end of the building. As you can see from the top photo above, there are a number of businesses on the first floor. Newport’s big ladder truck should be there in just under a half-hour.
North Lincoln Fire now declares the fire is out – Finally! But they’re still going to keep an eye on it.

North Lincoln Fire-Rescue is enroute to a report of a chimney fire at Lincoln City’s Rodeway Inn, at 1070 SE 1st. That’s right next to the D-River Wayside.
Rodeway staff is evacuating everyone in the motel. The chimney fire is above room 342.
First fire crew on scene reports heavy smoke from two rooms on the 3rd floor.
One firefighter says it appears the fire is into the roof area.
North Lincoln Fire has sent out a request for surrounding fire agencies for mutual aid to help fight the blaze.
Firefighters report there are visible flames in the attic area and heavy smoke is coming from two rooms on the third floor.
Evacuation of all guests continue. They’re being funneled over to the Quality Inn next door.
Third floor has heavy smoke coming from the two rooms on the end. Everyone on the 3rd floor has been evacuated.
Second floor is now fully evacuated.
Firefighters on the third floor report that the fire is in the crawl space between the roof and the motel rooms. Firefighters are hauling hose up the emergency exit to access the fire.
Fire Command has asked for assistance from Depoe Bay to help cover the city while they’re tied up at the Rodeway.
Firefighters are running hose up the stairwell and also getting on the roof. Firefighters in the smoke-filled rooms are going to be pulling down the ceiling while firefighters cut holes in the roof to attack the fire from up top.
Flames now visible coming out from the roof.
