Jillian McCabe sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for throwing her son off the Yaquina Bay Bridge
The mother of a six year old autistic boy, who threw him off the Yaquina Bay Bridge in 2014, will spend a long time in prison under a plea bargain struck in Lincoln County Circuit Court Monday.
Jillian McCabe, who her defense attorney says was suffering a schizophrenic episode at the time, was hearing voices ordering to throw 6 year old London McCabe over a 130 foot plunge to the bay below. McCabe pleaded guilty to to murder and manslaughter which entails 25 years in prison without any chance of earlier parole.
McCabe has a long history of mental illness. London McCabe was a student at Crestview School in Waldport. The family lived in Seal Rock.
