Recent foster care abuse mills unearthed by investigators revealed more than just abused children supposedly under the state’s care. It showed that information about an outrageous breach of trust that the state would take care of already stressed out and frequently dysfunctional children was kept under wraps – away from the public eye and sometimes from top state foster care officials.
New legislation aimed at the beginnings of transparency in the quality of foster child care is just now getting some legislative debate in Salem.
