Gallery Michael Gibbons will be featuring a painting called “In Between Showers” for February’s First Weekend. In a statement by the artist, he says, “For years I have taken a week to venture 100 miles from my coastal studio to the beautiful Willamette Valley and Schreiner’s Iris Gardens to paint. It is a small window of opportunity since the blooms are at their best for only three weeks. Hundreds of acres are blooming in every imaginable color, plus the three display gardens open to the public. What an opportunity to use such a variety of colors. This painting I managed to accomplish on the one day, THE ONE DAY, I was there when it was not raining. I only got wet through my clothing once. Grey days are my favorite and this painting shows that off well. Gives new meaning to the phrase “SATURATED COLOR”. “ You can see Michael Gibbons’ paintings on display at his gallery at 140 NE Alder St., Toledo from 11 am-5 pm Saturday & Sunday. Enjoy a Wine & Cheese reception with the artist.
