Governor Kate Brown has appointed someone to help orchestrate Oregon’s preparedness for coping with “The Big One.” It’s about the ever-present danger of the Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake and the tsunami that follows right behind it.
Governor Brown says that although there are many state and federal agencies analyzing how to prepare Oregon for the tumultuous event that visits our stretch of Earth every 300 or so years, there is still a need to sum-it-all-up and drive state policy on how state funds should be directed for greatest effectiveness.
