Say you’re laid off and start getting unemployment checks. You look and look for another job, either related or different from your old job. You find one. But maybe it doesn’t pay as much as your old job. It doesn’t pay your bills. Do you take it?
President Obama is proposing to add a financial “kicker” if you do take the job. Obama is advocating that whatever the pay difference is, Unemployment will make up half of the difference for two years – with a total maximum of $10,000.
