Wednesday evening at about 6:30pm the Lincoln City Police responded to a report of a female struck by a vehicle on NW 17th Street, near US Highway 101. When Officers arrived, they found 52-year-old, Lincoln City resident, Rhonda Lynn Chapman, injured in the roadway being aided by passers-by.
Chapman and another pedestrian had been walking Westbound on NW17th Street, near Maxwell’s on the Coast bar and Grill, moments before the incident. Chapman was struck by a motorist that left the scene prior to police arrival.
Chapman was transported by ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where she died from her injuries.
The vehicle above was captured on video surveillance in the area of the crash.
The vehicle is a white, extended cab pick-up with a white canopy cover.
Investigators need to contact occupants of the vehicle for possible witness information.
