Lincoln City City Recorder rejects petitions for changes in VRD rules, replacements for resigned city councilors and municipal fine schedule
Lincoln City City Clerk-Recorder Cathy Steere has rejected all three petitions for the May ballot dealing with liberalizing Vacation Rental Rules, how to replace councilors who resign before their term is up and changes in municipal court fees and fines.
In all three, Ms. Steere cited lack of keeping the initiatives to one subject each, lack of full text of their intended changes to city laws, and failing to include text of the ordinances they intend to have enacted, should the initiatives pass.
Filing group spokesman Jack Skipper says with the rejection, it makes it hard to re-write the initiatives, get them approved, and signatures gathered in time to qualify for the May 17th ballot. Beyond that he didn’t elaborate.
