TOLEDO, OR – Schools, organizations and individuals from across the country are planning more than 15,000 events to celebrate National School Choice Week 2016. Nation School Choice Week runs January 24 – 30 and will be the world’s largest-ever series of education-related events.
The Toledo Chamber of Commerce is supporting this effort for Toledo area schools, to include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online academies, private schools, and homeschooling distributing items that will help raise awareness of school choice and by encouraging participation by members of all our schools.
National School Choice Week events include open houses at schools, school assemblies, parents’ nights, chamber of commerce meetings, roundtable policy discussions, awards ceremonies, rallies at state capitols, and more.
According to NSCW President Andrew Campanella, the rapid growth of National School Choice Week, which began in 2011, coincides closely with the growth in public interest in, as well as support and demand for, multiple K-12 education opportunities.
Such support across the country recognizes the importance of ensuring that all children have the opportunity to learn and to pursue their own American dreams and to advocate for an array of education options.
National School Choice Week is nonpolitical and nonpartisan. NSCW does not advocate for or against legislation.
