The North Lincoln Health District at a Special Board of Directors Meeting on Monday adopted a Resolution which approves the Purchase and Sale Agreement between Samaritan Health Services and The District. The assets, including all properties, buildings, and other valuable elements of the District will be transferred to Samaritan in exchange for a new Critical Access Hospital. Samaritan will design and construct a new rural critical access acute care Hospital on the existing Hospital property.
The next step is to complete surveys of all properties and adopting final details of the definitive Agreement. The formal Agreement will be executed in the first or second week of January, 2016. Closing of the transaction is planned for February 1, 2016.
The Agreement sets out a timeline of steps for Samaritan to Design, and construct the new Hospital. The existing Hospital, built in 1965-1967, will remain in operation until the new Hospital is ready and licensed to open.
