Following nearly two weeks of considerable rainfall, the ground is soggy and trees that aren’t doing so well are falling all over the Central Coast.
A tree is into a house on Boulder Creed Drive southeast of Otis. Trees are also falling in scattered areas around Lincoln County. And as the winds continue to blow there will be more. Highway 229 is getting its share of downed timber as well as “heavy leaners” as ODOT crews call them.
The upshot is to drive slowly – keep your eyes on the road but also on what’s happening on both sides of the road. And that includes utility lines that are hung low and/or on the ground.
