A vital link to a quarry, important for road repairs and other functions, has been cut off. Eckman Creek Road has been undermined by its namesake. It’s impassable because the pipe that funnels the creek under the road is clogged with debris and the water has saturated the road bed to where it’s nothing but a big soggy sponge.
Unfortunately, there’s only one road in, and one road out. Nothing connects to the west or east out of the Eckman Creek watershed – unless you want to go cross-country on narrow dirt forest service roads.
Public Works is no doubt sizing up the challenge. But we’ve got another series of storms rolling through starting late in the weekend right on through Wednesday.
