The Lincoln City Emergency Warming Shelter now has two (2) emergency shelters for the homeless this winter season. The emergency shelter located on the North end of town is at the Congregational Church, NW 25th behind Kenny’s IGA. The South emergency shelter site is the Old Firehouse on SE 48th (Taft District) behind Sport and Imports Repair and Shuckers.
Both Emergency shelter sites will be open Sunday December 20st and Monday December 21nd at 6 pm. Or when weather is at a pre-determined temperature near freezing. You can find out about openings by postings around town that say the emergency shelters are “open”, our Facebook page or you can call the emergency shelter hotline at 206-713-8234.
Volunteers continue to be needed to assist with staffing of emergency shelter sites when opened. Interested persons should call the Volunteer Coordinator, Jo Frances Calk at 206-713-8234, or write the warming shelter in care of P.O. Box 198, Lincoln City (97367).
