The Federal Aviation Administration has had it up “to here” with people who fly small remote-controlled drones near airliners and airports. The FAA reports they’re getting over 3 complaints a day of drone-airliner encounters that greatly endanger the airliners and everyone aboard. The FAA’s main concern is that one of the small flying aircraft will get sucked up into one of the airliner’s jet engines and cause a catastrophic failure, which could cause the airliner to crash.
So all drone owners, including those getting them for Christmas, will be required to register them with the FAA on line and to affix an identification sticker on the aircraft.
