An Otis logging operations worker is a very lucky man – very lucky to be alive after spending a cold and blustery night out in the open down 100 feet off a remote logging road way off Highway 229.
Sheriff’s Deputies say it began when Roger Williamson failed to return from his work which was described as off the north end of Highway 229 and then a number of miles up the 900 road toward the Lincoln-Polk County line.
Deputies just happened to bump into some loggers connected with another logging operation who told them that they had helped a man in a red Jeep get out of a ditch – and then he drove off. Williamson was in a red Jeep.
So searchers continued up same direction that Williamson took. About an hour later they spotted some car tracks in the mud that led off the road and down the side of the hill. And there, about 80 feet down, they spotted Williamson
