From Mary Robeson, Lincoln City –
A group of us are working on gifts for those at local nursing homes….sadly too often the elderly are moved into nursing homes and nearly forgotten. Lives are busy and sadly people just don’t have connections like they once did.
Many groups do things for our youth but I rarely see people doing something for our elderly. My Future Mary Kay Unit, along with some additional friends, are working hard to get sponsors for our Adopt A Grandparent Gifts. With a $14 donation we are able to put together a Fragrance Free Mary Kay Satin Hands Hand Cream, a pair of fuzzy socks, blanket or stuffed animal and a card wishing them a Merry Christmas and letting them know who sponsored their gift (or noting it is from a Secret Santa if you prefer). All this is tucked inside gift bags that have been decorated by elementary school students in the Lincoln City Area!
When the gifts are all packaged and ready for delivery, local 4-H members and other community youth will help deliver these gifts and sign Christmas Carols to bring extra smiles.
For each package sponsored I am personally donating another so there is absolutely no profit made from this and instead we are able to bless more of the elderly in our community. Receipts can be given for tax purposes if desired.
If you would like to help support this project, please feel free to contact me, Mary Robeson, through our Facebook Event Page, text or call me at 541-270-3014. You can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your consideration. Merry Christmas
