The following state parks and trails are closed because of storm damage, flooding or high ocean surf. They will re-open when the damage is cleared and conditions are safe. Conditions can change quickly, so any park visitor should watch out for their own welfare. Report unsafe conditions to park staff as soon as possible, or call 911 in an emergency. Visit www.oregonstateparks.org for the most current park information.

North coast
Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site–beach access trail closed.

Cape Lookout State Park and campground–Cape Lookout State Park will remain closed until Dec. 18 because of a slide on Cape Lookout Road/Whiskey Creek Road north of the main park entrance and minor damage related to debris from winds and flooding within the park. The local public utility district also has a scheduled power outage for Dec. 16 and the park has a water system construction project set for next week. During the closure, park staff will clean up the debris and repair any damages to facilities. Cape Lookout Road is closed at the Sand Lake Road junction.

Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint–open

Ecola State Park–Indian Beach Road remains closed due to road damage from Canyon Creek runoff.

Central coast
Roads End State Recreation Site–closed through Dec. 13.

Devil’s Lake State Recreation Site–closed through Dec. 18 due to flooding.

D River State Recreation Site–closed through Dec. 13.

Beverly Beach State Park–closed due to high surf and flooding.

Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint– closed due to high surf.

Carl G. Washburne State Park campground and day-use area–temporarily closed due to low water level in the water storage tank.

Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint–west parking lot temporarily closed due to high surf and storm debris. Access to the east parking lot and to the lighthouse remains open.

South Jetty day-use area at South Beach State Park–closed due to flooding.

W.B Nelson Recreation Site near Waldport–closed due to flooding.

Brian Booth State Park–Ona Beach day-use is closed due to flooding.

South Coast
Arizona Beach State Recreation Site–closed due to high surf.

Sunset Bay State Park–the day-use area is closed due to flooding, high surf and debris in the parking lot.

Portland metro area
Banks-Vernonia State Trail–the trail from the Banks trailhead to the Manning trailhead is open. The trail will remain closed north of the Manning trailhead through the weekend.

Cazadero State Trail–closed two miles from Boring.

Historic Columbia River State Highway Trail–Twin Tunnels section from Hood River to Mosier open.

Willamette Valley
Willamette Mission State Park–day-use area closed due to flooding.

Sarah Helmick State Park–closed due to flooding.

Luckiamute State Natural Area–north access closed due to flooding.

Silver Falls State Park–the park is open, but the South Falls trail section leading under the falls is closed due to a tree hanging over the falls.
