A High Wind Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Central Oregon Coast, in effect 7:00am-4:00pm Thursday. South winds 30-40 mph with gusts 55-65 mph, strongest near beaches and headlands. The winds will increase Thursday morning with the strongest winds between 9:00am and 2:00pm Thursday. These strong winds may make travel difficult for high profile vehicles especially along Highway 101. Isolated power disruptions will be possible, along with localized blockage of roads due to damaged trees.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
