It’s not too late to vaccinate against the flu
Samaritan Coastal Clinic will host a walk-in flu shot clinic the weekend of Dec. 5-6 for adults and children over the age of 6 months. No appointment is needed. Just stop by the clinic, located at 825 NW Hwy. 101, between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5; or between 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6. Clinical staff will answer questions and administer the vaccine.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, most seasonal flu activity in the United States typically occurs between October and May, which means it’s not too late to receive the influenza vaccine. In addition to getting a seasonal flu vaccine, other ways to avoid catching the flu include staying away from sick people and washing your hands frequently to reduce the spread of germs.
