Proceedings have begun to determine whether Marion County Circuit Court Judge Vance Day should be disciplined, removed from his job, or have nothing happen at all, depending on the evidence that will be forthcoming during a two week process.
Judge Day recently made headlines across the country on his refusal to preside at gay weddings. And while it is not a specific requirement that judges perform wedding ceremonies for gays, it calls into question whether the prejudice is a critical factor in his judicial thinking when considering cases involving gay plaintiffs or gay defendants in his court.
