Fall Book Sale to raise funds for hospital equipment
Local author Gail Elliott Downs will be the featured guest at the Fall Book Sale next week, helping to raise funds to purchase medical equipment for Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital.
The Fall Book sale is an annual SNLH Auxiliary fundraiser, in cooperation with Bob’s Beach Books. Twenty percent of proceeds will go toward the purchase of an automated blood pressure machine for the hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Department.
The sale will commence at 7 a.m. and run all day until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the hospital cafeteria. It will feature a splendid display of new hardback and paperback books, new releases, Oregon authors, and unique gifts, including Christmas items, puzzles, stuffed toys, and more.
In addition, the author of “The Black Suitcase Mystery: A World War II Remembrance,” will be available to sell and sign copies of her book. A retired elementary school educator, Gail Elliott Downs wrote the true tale of how a team of youthful detectives pieced together a timeless tale of love and war involving B-24 Liberator Bombers, the men who flew them, and the women who waited for their safe return.
We’ll see you Wednesday, November 4th at the hospital cafeteria for the Fall Book Sale!
