Witnesses are being sought who saw a man beaten up and robbed near the Siletz Public Library last Friday night.
The investigation revealed the adult male victim was walking to his home when he was approached by several teenagers near the Siletz library. The teens attacked him and took cash and other personal items. He suffered significant, but non-life-threatening injuries to his face and upper body. After the initial assault the man continued home and was again assaulted by the same suspects in the 300 block of Siletz River Road. The victim eventually made it to his house and called 9-1-1.
Deputies assisted by the Toledo Police checked the area the evening of October 9th but were unable to locate anyone matching the description of the suspects.
On Saturday deputies obtained surveillance video which lead to the identification of two of the suspects. Two juveniles (a male and female) were contacted in Siletz and taken into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Juvenile Detention Center.
The suspects are being held on the charges of Assault in the Third Degree (Felony), Robbery in the Second Degree (Felony), Theft in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor) and Harassment (Misdemeanor).
