The long awaited new “Boat Launch Slide” on the Siletz River will be formally opened this Thursday at 10am. The spot on the Siletz River has been a favorite of river anglers for a long time, but they mainly launched their boats by sliding them down the hill there at Ojalla Park as well as at other locations along the river.
But as of Thursday, they’ll have a bona fide boat slide that will make launching a boat and re-beaching it a lot easier, safer and with a little bit of fun thrown in.
The boat slide, located at milepost 20.5, will also come equipped with parking for pickups with trailered boats and even some single vehicle spaces. New restrooms, too! What a deal!
The sticker for the boat slide totalled up like this: The Oregon Marine Board chipped in $75,000. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife coughed up nearly $300,000 leaving the county to cover rest – somewhere around $25,000. Again! What a deal for Lincoln County!
Now get out there and go catch dinner, you guys!!
